The Process
Interested in working with Flourish Cake Design but not sure what to expect? Here is a quick overview of a typical booking process.

Say Hello!
First, let's get to know each other! Reach out using the contact form or email me directly (hello@flourishcakedesign.com) to start the conversation. I will note your details and we’ll chat a bit about what you are looking for in your cake. I will ask you to do some homework so I can get a better feel for what you would like your cake design to encapsulate.
I recommend reaching out at least six to nine months prior to your event date, further out for busy months and holiday weekends. However, please inquire even if your date is sooner, as it is always possible I may have availability.
Booking
If I am available and a good fit for your event, you can secure your date with a retainer & contract.
Our retainer is 50% of our order minimum + tax & delivery. Our minimum investment per project is $2500, plus tax and delivery for the Chicago-land area, and may be higher for out-of state projects. I only take one to two projects per weekend in order to focus fully on each and every client, and some weekends book up very quickly, so if you know you'd like me to make your cake - lets talk!!

Tasting & Consultation
Once you are officially booked in, we will set up a time to have you in for a complimentary tasting & design consultation. Together, we will discuss all the elements of your wedding cake, the design, the feeling, the size, the service, the logistics, and most importantly, the flavors.
If you would like to sample our cakes prior to placing a retainer, you may purchase a to-go tasting HERE. Full design services are only offered to booked clients at this time.
Design
Using the inspiration we gathered during your consultation, I will begin designing your cake. You will receive an in-depth proposal with detailed descriptions, inspiration photos, a design sketch, and pricing.. Together, we will make sure every detail is exactly what you have envisioned for your wedding day.

Celebrate
Once we have finalized your design and flavors, I will take the wheel. I will facilitate communication with your planner, florist (if necessary), venue, etc., so that you don’t have to worry about the minute details of the cake on your wedding day. I organize delivery and set up of your cake directly with your vendors, and take great care to make sure not a petal is out of place.
Keep Celebrating
No need to save the top tier in your freezer for an entire year: all orders include a freshly baked tier for you and your spouse to enjoy on your first anniversary. You celebrate with fresh, delicious cake and I have the opportunity to see all of my clients one more time: it’s a win-win for everyone!
